Pumpkin Pie Grace With Cool Whip Blessings

21 Nov

Several years ago a friend shared some special thoughts about Thanksgiving.  And one simple illustration of God’s continual favor was, well…”sweet”.

“If the only thing God ever did was send Christ to die for my sins, that would be enough. But his grace didn’t stop there. His blessings are like Cool Whip on pumpkin pie.  The dessert would be delicious by itself. But he loves adding the extras!”

Makes you smile, doesn’t it?

A life reflecting godly gratitude turns back praise to the Lord for the unmerited extras. Family. Friends. Homes.  Jobs.  Talents.  Opportunities.  Protection. Met needs.

The list never ends.

So this Thanksgiving, when the pumpkin pie and Cool Whip are passed around, let’s remember to thank God
for all he gives beyond salvation.

Because he delights when we taste and know his goodness.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” ~ Psalm 136:1

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!
